AbstractRésumé Le présent article se propose de combler le manque de pensée chrétienne cohérente, sur « Dieu, la terre, la guerre » qui conduit à une possibilité de l’auto destruction humaine, au nom d’une guerre sanctionnée par Dieu, et dignifiée par le vocable « guerre juste ». L’étude formule une proposition de cohérence articulée sur trois affirmations. La première affirmation, fondamentale au sens fort, consiste en ceci : Dieu est le propriétaire de la terre et de toutes les terres, son droit de propriétaire terrien est ancré dans son autorité « créationnelle ». La deuxième affirmation découle de la première : la terre est confiée aux humains. La troisième affirmation concerne la gestion commune de la terre : osons dire non à la guerre, au nom de Dieu, pour conserver la terre. Abstract The present article proposes to fill the gap in coherent Christian thinking on “God, the earth, war’’ that leads to possible human self-destruction in the name of a war sanctioned by God and dignified by the phrase “just war’’. The study formulates a coherent proposal enunciated in three assertions. The first assertion, fundamental in its strongest meaning, is the following: God is the owner of the land and all lands; His right as a landowner is anchored in his ‘‘creative’’ authority. The second affirmation follows from the first: the earth is entrusted to human beings. The third statement concerns the common management of the land: let us say no to war, in the name of God, to preserve the land.

AbstractChristians have encountered suffering, persecution and death since the earliest days of the church’s existence. In the book of Acts, Luke describes how the death of Stephen by stoning and ‘a great persecution against the church at Jerusalem’ occurred (Acts 7:54-8:3). This ‘great persecution’ resulted in the believers in Christ being scattered. As Luke continues telling the story, he states that the scattered believers spoke ‘the message’ to Jews in Phoenicia, Cyprus and Antioch and to Greeks in Antioch (Acts 11:19-21).
